The Kelly Fund For Lupus, Inc.
The Kelly Fund for Lupus, Inc. was founded in May 2008 by Brenda Blackmon. When her daughter Kelly was diagnosed with lupus, Kelly vowed after her life threatening recovery to make a difference in combating this disease.
Lupus is a chronic inflammatory disease that can affect various parts of the body, especially the skin, joints, blood and kidneys.
Much of the money raised by The Kelly Fund For Lupus, Inc. goes to the Alliance for Lupus Research and in other ways by promoting awareness and understanding of the disease.
“Lupus is three times more common among African American Women, and more common in women of Hispanic, Asian and Native American Descent.”
